Stephany Rojas Hidalgo

I am an older sister, dog lover, active nature seeker, and movie watcher. My name is Stephany and as I continue with my education and career path, I find myself writing more and more bios. I am still not sure how to write a good bio, but I hope this paints a decent picture of me. I am in my second year in the Communication MA program at SDSU. A few of the things I like to do outside of being a student and teacher is reading, writing, and drawing. I love hiking, bouldering and generally being outside with nature. If I can I like to pass my time finding quiet spots and reading a book. I have always loved creating and learning about different things. I think this has fueled my drive to pursue work in academia. I am GTA, TA, and ISA on SDSU’s campus and being an older sister, I have often felt that I have been teaching my whole life. I will admit that I became a tutor this summer because I found myself lost amidst this new world of social distancing. I was hoping that I could bridge the gap and at the same time learn from my students.

In an effort to find snow, I found this beautiful place instead near Mount Julian. This is me being a hobbit and taking a break to admire the view.
