Marie Branes

Hey! I’m Marie. I am a Guardian Scholars student. My major is Interdisciplinary Studies (Social Work,Counseling and Social Psychology and Psychology). I love the rain, it literally feeds my soul. I am big on reading when I have the time. I also enjoy writing wannabe poetry. I can’t go a day without listening to music. I hope to build strong relationships with my mentees and become someone they are able to open up to. I know it’s not always an easy thing to do. My goal is to be a support person for them and to be someone who they know is in their corner and will have their back.

I can't go a single day without music, poetry or reading in some form.	I love going for drives and I love the rain so both together are amazing especially when you can good company.	I love being outside within nature in any form. It always leads to moments of reflection for me.
My time as a Transfer Bridge mentor will always hold a special spot in my heart. That role gave me the confidence to decide I wanted to be a Summer Bridge mentor and to follow through on it.	One of my favorite events as a SDSU Guardian Scholar Student to help with but also because you get to see everyone. :)	Just a handful of memories I miss and reflect on.
