Khoa vo

Hello incoming freshman EOP students! I’m Khoa Vo and I’m originally from Vietnam. I’m currently a 4th-year Kinesiology Pre-Physical Therapy student with Honors minor in Interdisciplinary Studies (aka Weber Honor College). Fall 2020 semester will be my last semester. I transferred from San Diego City College with an Associate of Liberal Arts and Science - Biology Science in Fall 2018. In SDSU, I’m the chief event coordinator of Kinesiology Organization (KORE). I have volunteered in several places (e.g. Costa Rica, UCSD Health…). I am currently involved doing research in the Rehabilitation Laboratory in SDSU. I love tacos, cheesecake, and listening to music. I personally have several mentors throughout my academic journey and they’ve helped me to discover myself and reach higher potential. This is why I have decided to become a SOAR mentor to guide, support, and motivate you to reach higher potential. In Weber Honors College, we use an African Proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” I have learned that our academic journey is not a race; therefore, you need a SOAR mentor to support you along the way. I’m excited to meet and learn from you!

Until you step into the unknown, you don’t know what you’re made of. I stopped by Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park during my road trip to Portland, Oregon over Winter break.

My mentees showed up at SDSU Student Research Symposium 2020 to support my poster presentation.
