Karen Hashemi

Hello, my name is Karen Hashemi and I am a first generation college student and was a part of EOP for my whole undergrad career. College has been one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences I have ever had. I was a part of Chi Alpha, which was my community that uplifted me and helped me find my true self and inspired me on my faith journey. I was also President of Christians for Social Justice. I am inspired by social justice and I believe it is my calling to pursue that in all areas of my life. I was a Women's Studies Major and a minor in Religious Studies and my goal is to combine the two in my future career. I was very involved with the Pride Center and Women's Resource Center, collaborating with them for various events. I am so excited to tutor Religious Studies as it is a big interest in my life. I am excited to learn and grow and create community with EOP!

Israel

I got to travel to Israel for an Academic trip! It was life changing.

Barriers to Feminine Products

I hosted an informative packing party to discuss barriers to accessing feminine care products for homeless women. We took donations and packed feminine care products for homeless women in San Diego.

Philippines

I took a trip to the Philippines to teach value lessons in the schools in Davao. It was incredibly rewarding and I really got to enjoy the Filipino culture.

Faith and Pride

I hosted a Faith and Pride Open Mic Night in collaboration with the Pride Center and Christians for Social Justice.

Hosted a Faith and Spirituality small group in the Pride Center.
